Blue October Participates In The Vote For Hope. Dear Blue October Fans:
Help The Kristin Brooks Hope Center - founders of 1-800-SUICIDE - add a much needed $250,000 towards their development of an online crisis support network of certified crisis line workers.
Chase Bank is giving away $5 million to charity through the Case Giving Challenge. The organization that receives the most votes will win $250,000 and voting ends July 12th.
The Kristin Brooks Hope Center has partnered with To Write Love on Her Arms and PostSecret.com, all of whom Blue October has worked closely with through our past and upcoming Pick Up The Phone Tours, to develop the IMAlive online crisis support network this year.
If the Hope Center wins the $250,000.00 prize, 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward IMAlive. Your vote today can help us all take the next step in suicide prevention.
Hopeline needs your vote and your help to win this contest for suicide prevention.
If you could do three things (5 minutes tops) all of us at the Kristin Brooks Hope Center would be most grateful.
1. Please vote for us using your facebook account- http://bit.ly/vote_hope 2. Change your Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter profile pic to the attached photo below. 3. Send a request to your friends and lists of supporters to do the same.
Thanks, Blue October.

BREAKING NEWS: Justin On Good Morning America Thurs. July 8th!
Blue October Frontman Justin Furstenfeld will be on ABC's Good Morning America Tomorrow - Thursday, July 8th!
Tune in tomorrow morning from 7:00am - 9:00am! Check your local listings!
I read the column written by reporter John Lomax on Justin Furstenfeld and wish to express my concern and request for retraction and clarification to set the record straight.
Lomax wrote that Justin claimed during our press conference on April 12th, 2010 that he suffers from schizophrenia, then went on to impugn our tours credibility as a fund raiser, and lastly questioned if Justin as a spokesperson for our organization and our mission actually had a mental illness.
In addition to being the founder of 1-800-SUICIDE, the Kristin Brooks Hope Center and the Pick Up the Phone Tour, I was the organizer of and a speaker at the press event at which Justin spoke on Capitol Hill April 12. Not once did Justin say he has or suffers from schizophrenia.
This accusation undermines Justin’s credibility, the credibility of our organization, and the overall goal of our awareness tour. It borders on libel and is, at best, irresponsible reporting.
Lomax also implies impropriety regarding the tour as failing to raise money. This tour was never billed as a fund raiser. The Pick Up the Phone Tour raises awareness about our organization and it’s mission that would cost us millions over the life of the tour to purchase the same number of impressions. It is difficult enough to get celebrities to support mental health issues much less suicide. Lomax’s disparaging piece served to make finding celebrity spokespeople all the more difficult, and, in turn, prevented more awareness. The comments left by people reading Lomax’s article attest to the damage to our organization, our message and the purpose of the tour.
During the press conference that Lomax cited (an event he did not even attend nor are any transcripts or reliable footage available for) Justin shared the story of his stay in a Minneapolis facility where, instead of confiscating his shoelaces and cigarette lighter, staff allowed him to keep both and invited their friends down to get his autograph and take photos with him. In Justin’s words, he could have burned the place down and hanged himself. Up to 1,600 individuals in psychiatric care facilities commit suicide each year—a statistic that served as the press event’s centerpiece, and a statistic Lomax failed to mention in his piece.
We are grateful to Justin, Blue October and their management for affiliating with such a stigmatized issue and taking a proactive approach to suicide prevention—a responsibility we all have, but few of us take on. Accusations of faking mental illnesses do nothing but scare people from coming out and getting help. Public accusations, like Lomax’s article, was a discouraging piece for someone that might have a mental illness but doesn’t want to seek help for fear of being labeled or worse accused of faking it.
A person’s brain disorder—whether Type I or Type II bipolar, depression, schizophrenia, or anxiety—is between that person and his or her doctor. An accurate diagnosis can take up to 10 years, and many people who have one type of disorder can actually have co-occurring disorders but not even know it. Again, it is no one’s business but that of the doctor and patient. We support Justin in his efforts to raise awareness and encourage others to seek treatment for a variety of issues.
We were also greatly turned off by Lomax’s request to see Justin’s prescription. Individuals with many different types of disorders are prescribed medications by general practitioners who do not have the psychiatric background to prescribe these types of medications. Studies show that you cannot tell what someone does or doesn’t “have” by simply looking at a prescription label. Additionally, as of the 1990s, CAT scans, MRIs and SPECT scans are the most valid bits of medical proof of a mental illness because you can actually see the condition in the brain. We do not need to see Justin’s diagnosis on paper or his prescription bottles to know if he has the illness. If Lomax had wanted accurate “proof”, he would have asked for this information—not bottles. Proper research on Lomax’s part would have shown these truths. Lomax could have read tea leaves and had a better bearing on Justin’s condition.
These personal and organizational attacks have hurt the mission of the Pick Up the Phone Tour. It is our opinion that Justin is nothing less than a pioneer in the efforts to erase the stigma associated with mental health issues and should be praised for taking on that role.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Blue October Cancels The Pick Up The Phone Tour BLUE OCTOBER ANNOUNCES THE CANCELLATION OF THE PICK UP THE PHONE TOUR 2009 DUE TO LEAD SINGER’S HOSPITALIZATION
(New York, NY – October 22, 2009) The Pick Up The Phone Tour 2009 has been canceled due to the hospitalization of Justin Furstenfeld, lead singer of the tour’s headlining band Blue October. Furstenfeld, who was also the spokesperson for Pick Up The Phone Tour 2009, is being treated for suffering from an extreme mental anxiety attack. His doctors have ordered that the tour—which was committed to reducing the stigma associated with mental health, depression, and suicide—be canceled to allow for his recovery.
“Mental health diseases are unpredictable,” says Furstenfeld. “And on the eve of this tour in support of a cause that means the world to me, I am in need of time to heal from a setback in my own personal life, which is severe enough for me to seek hospitalization. I hope that my action to seek the strength and safety of treatment will inspire others that are suffering to do the same.”
The Pick Up The Phone Tour was to benefit suicide prevention and was created through a partnership between the non-profit organizations To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), Postsecret.com, Synclive.com, and 1-800-SUICIDE—The National Hopeline Network.
Ticket refunds will be available from the point of purchase for each date and venue. For more information about the Pick Up The Phone Tour 2009, please visit www.putp.org.
National Hopeline Network 1-800 SUICIDE (784-2433) and the Kristin Brooks Hope Center (KBHC): After losing his wife, Kristin Brooks to suicide in 1998, Reese Butler founded the Kristin Brooks Hope Center (KBHC), which created the National Hopeline Network 1-800 SUICIDE. In 2000, Reese gained the support of the late Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN), Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) and obtained more than seven million dollars to expand and support the National Hopeline Network which is comprised of 200 community crisis centers in 48 states. Callers in crisis to 1800-SUICIDE are routed to the closest crisis center in their immediate area so that quick referrals to behavioral health services and other supports can be offered. Since 1998, 1-800-SUICIDE has received more than 3 million calls and rescued more than 4,000 individuals who had already initiated suicide plans. www.hopeline.com
To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA): In 2006, Jamie Tworkowski wrote a story, a glimpse into a friend’s life and her first steps to recovery from drug addiction, self-injury, and depression. The story, titled To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), and t-shirts Tworkowski printed to help pay for his friend’s recovery, started a movement, not only within his local Orlando, FL community, but one that was swiftly embraced by people everywhere. Realizing a strong need to bring these mental health issues to light, Jamie created TWLOHA--a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide--and enlisted bands such as Paramore, Thrice, Anberlin, Switchfoot, Bayside, The Almost to spread TWLOHA’s message. Jamie and TWLOHA joined national and international touring bands spreading their message of hope before bands took the stage each night. In August 2007, MySpace awarded TWLOHA the winner of their “Impact Award” for “Community Building,” TWLOHA garnered the most votes in the history of the Impact Awards. To Write Love on Her Arms began with one broken girl, one painful night; addiction, depression, self-injury. It is the realization of what life can be when people commit to meeting a need. “A friend of mine told me there is no such thing as suicide prevention. This is an attempt to prove him wrong, to say that love can change a life. We can hold back the darkness. Rescue is possible,” says Tworkowski. www.twloha.com Synclive.Com: Synclive.com is a highly interactive music and entertainment Internet community that allows users to broadcast their live performances, as they happen, over the Internet to a worldwide audience. Synclive.com is currently reaching 127 countries with over 1 million video views a month. Shows can be broadcast from anywhere, at anytime. Synclive.com offers artists a tremendous promotional platform for worldwide exposure. It is a great way to promote new music, a new tour, new merchandise, and stay intimately connected with your fans. Shows are streamed live, recorded and stored at the artist’s discretion for future on demand viewing. Our most used tool is the embedded player which allows an artist’s live and on demand shows to be placed on all of their websites so fans can watch the show in the artist’s environment. Synclive.com is free for artists, fans, and venues to use and is open to all genres of music and live entertainment. www.synclive.com PostSecret.com: Called “the most trusted stranger in America,” Frank Warren is the sole founder and curator of the PostSecret Project: A collection of nearly 500,000 highly personal and artfully decorated postcards mailed anonymously from around the world, displaying the soulful secrets we never voice. The PostSecret.com site now receives more than 1,000,000 visitors every week. In 2005, the All-American Rejects approached Warren about using images of actual PostSecret images in their “Dirty Little Secret” music video. They offered Warren $1,000, but Warren instead asked them to donate $2,000 to 1800-SUICIDE where Warren is a volunteer. The donation was made and the music video became one of the most requested on MTV. The National Mental Health Association presented Warren with an award for his work in raising public awareness of Suicide. The PostSecret project has now raised over $210,000 for 1800-SUICIDE. PostSecret was awarded the December 2008 “Myspace Impact Award” and donated 100% of the proceeds to 1-800 SUICIDE. Blue October Making Waves In Germany - Volkszeitung Leipzig
Translated from German to English:
The Quiet, Loud Agreement
In the U.S., fans would sacrifice everything to be as close to Blue October as the visitors of their concert on Friday at Moritzbastei, Leipzig. Led by the eccentric singer Justin Furstenfeld the band counts as one of the platinum awarded top-stars in their home country. Europe still has to be conquered. After this fantastic, intoxicating and long resonating performance you have to tell the quite reserved lady Europe: You don’t wanna miss that guy, let yourself be conquered by him, damn it!
Once you’re stuck in their aura, you can’t escape. They’re great musicians, without a doubt: Justin’s brother Jeremy (drums), guitarist C.B. Hudson, bass player Matt Noveskey and keyboard and violin-magician Ryan Delahoussaye. Still all views and cameras focus on that guy who sings his insides out and conjures every line with his huge repertoire of gestures.
Spraying from his big maked-up eyes with a mixture of power, obsession and commitment, the singer creates an atmosphere in which trance and extasy come very close. Justin Furstenfeld seems to be guided by rock music. If he wouldn’t have it, he’d implode because it dissolves the jam of his negative emotions. “Weight Of The World” reflects the fear of his father and his own youthful destructiveness.
Depression and anxiety of life are represented in Furstenfeld's lyrics, stories of betrayal and forgiveness found expression in the new album, Approaching Normal. But that pain cools off regularly during breakup-songs that talk about love and inner recovery. “Say It” for example finishes up with being the victim and focuses on new inner strength. The ballads are also very deep, sung so cautiously, as if a slight change of the vocal chords swing would change the statement.
Emotional climaxes of this hypnotic one man show are the wonderful flying “Should Be Loved” and the angry “Hate Me” from the album Foiled, which brought the breakthrough in the US for the band. Furstenfelds voice sounds in a spectrum between softness and aggression like a mixture of Peter Gabriel and Marillion-Singer Derek William Dick aka Fish.
Obviously it’s the impression of truth that makes Mastermind Furstenfeld a unique experience beyond superficial rock music.
A guy who is driven by his emotions creates an own-therapeutic piece of art that touches and magnetises. The evening at Moritzbastei works as quiet and loud agreement between fans and artists. It’s not overtly crowded but atmospherically supercharged until the limit.
After the show the singer and guitarist sign autographs at the merch-stand, chat, thank the people and pose for pictures. And one more, and another one, one more. Everyone should have gone into the Saturday with full capacity. Happiness in Gigabyte.

Songs like "Dirt Room" continue their tradition of hard rock and somewhat violent beats and lyrics, while tracks such as "Weight of the World" and "The End" offer an introspective look at the twisted psyches that the band's previous albums have also examined... Justin Furstenfeld, brother Jeremy, CB Hudson III, Ryan Delahoussaye and Matt Noveskey had the near 500-strong crowd hanging onto every song.

UK's Karrang! Magazine Reviews Approaching Normal
05/21/2009
VIDEO ALERT - "Say It," the latest single off of Blue October's fifth studio album, 'Approaching Normal,' is one of their strongest songs to date. It's only appropriate that their music video is equally as compelling, and the Kevin Kerslake directed piece is exactly that.
Fusing larger than life images plucked fresh from the realm of National Geographic with live and backstage scenes of the band, the video is colorful and moving.
Call them emo all you want. Undefinable Houston rockers Blue October pride themselves on not holding anything back and could care less if you like it or not. "Get it all out," they say. That's the most important thing.
Just weeks after the release of their fifth studio album, Approaching Normal, Justin (vox, guitar) and Jeremy Furstenfeld (drums), Ryan Delahoussaye (violin, mandolin, piano), C.B. Hudson (guitar), and Matt Noveskey (bass) came by the MTV studios to share five very important things about Blue October and their "bipolar art rock."
Widely known for their rock hit "Hate Me", Blue October has a range that no one expected from what is widely regarded as a hard rock band. Their latest album, Approaching Normal, is a blend of their traditional sound and more upbeat tones, but with a different message; the lighter side of life prevails in this one. Life is like a jump rope: there are ups and downs, but the point of it all is to try to sway from the negative and get into that positive mindset.
Lead singer Justin Furstenfeld took the time to chat with me about his Canadian experiences, the impact of a daughter, and of course, Blue October's music...

BLUE OCTOBER Takes to the Streets in Pittsburgh, PA After Cancelled Show!
Texas Alt-rockers Blue October's performance in Pittsburgh, PA last night (5/6/09) was canceled by the Fire Marshall and the Pittsburgh Police Department due to overcrowding and unsafe conditions. Just before the band was to take the stage at the Rex Theatre, the local Fire Marshall announced they were clearing the venue and the show could not continue. The room was immediately cleared and the venue was shut down.
The band, not wanting to disappoint their fans proceeded to unload their gear from the venue and bus to the street and played their show on the corner outside the venue. This was met with a HUGE ovation from the Pittsburgh fans who had already endured a difficult night.
Here is a fan's perspective of the performance. Many thanks to bluemask68 for documenting this!

Music Video Alert -
The new video for "Say It" is now being featured on VH1.com. Check it out, give it a thumbs up, add it to your playlist, and post your comments and thoughts about the video.
Sometimes it seems that Justin Furstenfeld, the lead singer, guitarist and lyricist for the Houston-based band Blue October, might have been created in a lab. Approaching Normal, the group's fifth studio album, doesn't do much to dissuade that impression. Furstenfeld's rock howl seems perfectly balanced between rage and melody, between raw anger and what's aurally palatable....

U Review Chimes In On Approaching Normal
Of all the angry, guyliner-covered, emotionally overloaded bands out and about today, Blue October is probably the best there is when it comes to making true emo music. The band had the biggest hit of 2006 with "Hate Me," and they've been progressing musically ever since. Their fifth album, Approaching Normal, is enthralling from the first note, and covers every energy tempo in modern rock music today.

The Daily Texan Reviews Approaching Normal, Rips Rolling Stone Magazine
Look at the new Blue October album, Approaching Normal, this way: Rolling Stone gave it two stars. Keep in mind, this is the same publication that's been pleasuring itself to U2's latest flop, so let's recognize the magazine as the irrelevant trash it's quickly becoming and give Approaching Normal a chance...
The Weekender Reviews Approaching Normal -------------------------------------------------
Blue October's Stunning Normalcy
And the award for "Most Schizophrenic Recording of 2009" goes to Blue October's latest release called "Approaching Normal."
While it can be hard to deny that today's music scene is sometimes lacking in adventure and much of it sounds like mass-produced corporate product, Blue October's "Approaching Normal" is proudly all over the musical map. By dipping into a wide variety of styles, the good news is that the Texas quintet has come up with a stunning recording.
Inside the Gear Room with Matt Noveskey & Aguilar Amplification "It's one of those records where you should listen to the whole thing all the way through," says Blue October bassist Matt Noveskey of the band's recently released album, Approaching Normal. "It's not just a collection of singles, it's a real record and every song belongs together."
Noveskey is clearly enthused about the expansive approach the band took with the new album, which has proven to be a hit right out of the box thanks to the propulsive first single, Dirt Room.

Billboard Raves About Approaching Normal April 04, 2009 ET
Blue October - Approaching Normal
Blue October abandons the downbeat themes that colored its platinum Universal Motown debut, "Foiled," and readjusts its perspective to appreciate an existence that's "Approaching Normal." But dark thoughts still cloud lead singer/songwriter Justin Furstenfeld's mind, and he fearlessly airs them as he dishes revenge on an enemy on "Dirt Room" and confesses to the havoc his former bad habits wreaked on the discordant "Weight of the World."
Producer Steve Lillywhite hones Blue October's penchant for emotive playing and tight rock chops. From note one, the hook, melody and tempo of the upcoming single "Say It" screams "hit"-one that will surpass the significant crossover impact of the band's breakthrough song, "Hate Me."
Mighty is the act that mixes lullabies to children ("Blue Does") and plucky life affirmations ("Jump Rope"), follows them with the tale of a jealous ex-husband's murderous rage ("The End") and walks away with credibility intact. "Approaching Normal" could be called "Nearing Excellence." - Christa L. Titus

BREAKING DAWN CONCERT SERIES
FEATURING JUSTIN FURSTENFELD OF BLUE OCTOBER
- EVENTS TO INCLUDE Q&A WITH MEYER, SPECIAL MUSICAL PERFORMANCE AND AUTOGRAPHING
June 10, 2008 (New York, NY) To celebrate the release of Breaking Dawn, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers is offering fans exclusive events with author Stephenie Meyer through the Breaking Dawn Concert Series.
Each event in the series will be an evening of story and song featuring a special musical performance by Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October. This four city tour will kick off in New York City on August 1st, the eve of the release of Breaking Dawn. The events, produced by Right Arm Entertainment, will include a Q&A with Meyer, musical performance and Meyer autographing.
Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final book in Meyer's internationally bestselling Twilight Saga. The highly-anticipated novel will be released at 12:01 am on Saturday, August 2, 2008 with a first printing of X million copies.
This innovative and unique approach to an author event stemmed from the playlists Meyer created for each of her novels, which contain songs that inspired her while writing. Her playlists have been popular with fans and provoked almost as much comment as the novels themselves. Special musical guest Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October will perform several songs during the concert, including his band's songs that have appeared on Meyer's playlists: 'Sound of Pulling Heaven Down' and 'Hate Me' from New Moon and 'Overweight' from Eclipse.
"Music played a major role in the writing of the Twilight Saga and I'm thrilled to be able to incorporate my love of music into these special events for my readers," said Stephenie Meyer. "I'm a huge Blue October fan! To have Justin at these Breaking Dawn events playing songs that inspired scenes in the book is cooler than anything I could have imagined."
"Stephenie Meyer is an amazing writer and I am honored to be even mentioned, much less have
my writing be an inspiration to her," said Justin Furstenfeld. "I write from the heart and soul and I am just floored that she would feel half of the respect I have for her use of imagery and vivid writing. I can't put her books down when I read them."
The dates and location of the Breaking Dawn Concert Series are:
August 1: New York City, Nokia Theatre at Times Square
August 5: Chicago, Harris Theatre
August 7: Los Angeles, Royce Hall
August 12: Seattle, Benaroya Hall
Tickets for the Breaking Dawn Concert Series will go on-sale at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, June 21st at www.ticketweb.com. Tickets are $20. After the concert, fans will get a chance to get an autograph from Meyer - those in New York will get a limited edition bookplate for Breaking Dawn, while fans at the Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle events can bring a Stephenie Meyer book of their choice for the author to sign.
In less than three years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon.
Twilight was one of 2005's most talked about novels and translation rights have been sold in 35 countries. On December 12, 2008, Summit Entertainment will bring Twilight to the big screen, directed by Catherine Hardwicke ("Thirteen," "Lords of Dogtown") and starring Kristen Stewart ("Into the Wild") and Robert Pattinson ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"). The second novel in the Twilight Saga, New Moon was released in September 2006 and spent over 30 weeks at the #1 position on The New York Times bestseller list. Eclipse, the latest book in the series released on August 7, 2007, catapulted to the #1 slot on bestseller lists nationwide after selling 150,000 copies its first day on-sale. There are over 6 million copies of the Twilight Saga in-print in the US.
Known for his soul-stirring lyrics and captivating live performances, Justin Furstenfeld is more than the band's front man, singer and songwriter; he is the quintessence of Blue October.
Over the last two years Blue October's latest album, Foiled, and its two hit songs, 'Hate Me' and 'Into the Ocean,' generated platinum-plus physical sales and millions of single track downloads.
Justin formed Blue October in the early nineties with lifelong friend/multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye and his brother/drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld.. Members came and went before settling in on the current line-up, which now includes guitarist, C.B. Hudson and bassist, Matt Noveskey. Their previous albums include their debut The Answers, Consent to Treatment, History for Sale, and a live album and DVD, Argue With a Tree, which captured the magnetic conviction of the band's live concerts and its singular relationship with its faithful followers.
This August, Blue October enters the recording studio, with renowned 5-time Grammy winning producer Steve Lillywhite at the helm, to begin work on its fifth studio album.

Foiled For The Last Time! NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Universal Motown Records recording artists Blue October have announced their Sorry Boy Burns Bright fall tour and the release of a premium edition of the platinum-plus modern rock masterpiece Foiled, entitled, Foiled For The Last Time, which hits stores and the digital domain on September 25th.
Alt-rock favorites Yellowcard and Universal Motown's Shiny Toy Guns will share the stage with Blue October from the first date to last, making it a true fall music event. Tickets for this must-see concert go on-sale to the general public for all shows on June 22-23. However, exclusive Pre-sale tickets for a few of the shows were made available via each of the three band's websites on June 9. The highly anticipated trek kicks off on September 20, in Atlanta, GA, and is currently scheduled to run through mid-November, and includes shows in Philadelphia, Dallas, Orlando and New York City. Ozma will open up for the first leg through October 6 (Detroit, MI), with Lovedrug joining the bill in St. Charles, MO on October 9, and throughout the rest of the tour.
Foiled For The Last Time is a two-disc set consisting of the full version of the Foiled album; 14 newly recorded songs performed live earlier this year during the band's Teach Your Baby Well tour; exclusive remixes by legendary DJ/Composer Paul Oakenfold (U2, Moby, New Order) and Grammy nominated producer/remixer/musician Carmen Rizzo (Coldplay, Pete Townshend); a remix of fan favorite, "Calling You"; and, a live version of "Angel," are among the bonus offerings, as well as links to exclusive video content and never-before-seen footage of the band.
Foiled was certified platinum in the US and Canada in February of this year by the RIAA, buoyed by the hits, "Hate Me," which hovered for more than six months in the Modern Rock Top 10, and, "Into The Ocean" which reached #1 on VH-1. A succession of sold-out tours cemented the Texas band's reputation as a new healing force in music, with Justin Furstenfeld's evocative lyrics attracting a diverse and growing audience for the Houston based five-some, who have been together since 1996.
The group is also readying for their annual summer tour which kicks off - where else - but in the great state of Texas - New Braunfels, to be exact - on July 6-7 (log on to their tour website www.blueoctober.com for the entire schedule), and, will include appearances at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Festival.

Grand Rapids, Canada and Boston shows re-scheduled... Grand Rapids, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and Boston shows to be re-scheduled.
After performing in front of 10,000 fans Saturday night in Louisville, KY, lead-singer Justin Furstenfeld re-injured his right leg. The same leg that he had surgery on earlier this year. He was admitted to the emergency room at Metro Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI this morning and it was determined by the doctors that he needed to stay off the leg for a few days and have further medical attention. We must now re-schedule our upcoming shows in Grand Rapids, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and Boston. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and we ask that you keep Justin in your thoughts.
Please stay tuned for further updates.
Sincerely,
Rainmaker Artists Management

BLUE OCTOBER TOUR POSTPONED! AS JUSTIN FURSTENFELD PREPARES FOR SURGERY ON BROKEN LEG
According to the band's manager, Paul Nugent, further tests this morning revealed the extent of damage to Furstenfeld's leg. Nugent said, "I'm disappointed to inform you that the MRI performed this morning at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Justin confirmed a complete tear of the LCL (ligament) in his right leg. He will require surgery as soon as possible, early to mid next week. As for the recovery period, we can speculate that Justin will be able to return to the stage on June 17th in Houston; we will be moving our May dates back to late June and July."
