an archangel hovering above,
but too far for me to reach
distrust in, but shades of violet
cloak us/ an anomaly,
brighter than the sun
i feel its pain weld up in me
but its only you

and my heart fills with worry
/regret--
can’t take the chance
terrified of rejection
but the insistance beating against my chest

begs me
to let you see, to show you how i truly feel
it’s agonizing

biting my nails, making sense of
the most disturbed of my thoughts
knowing all is lost, all is…

this is all more of a betrayal to myself
just submission, teeth grinding
pleading for the strength to say,
even just to whisper, the words
that plague my mind

i defy,
sanity a bubble waiting to pop
another monologue,
all too intriguing
sorrow imprisoning
keeping me from the joyous tomorrow
by your side

zombie, flower in hand
picture me this
another breath just for you
:an imaginary utopia
created just for us
,the happily ever after
we always wished for

but the potential to smile fades
with logic too ill to realize the difference
i hold my breath
looking down at the
vultures ripping flesh,
the eruptions through the heart;
simplicity reaching death

trying a different direction
it’s just me
picking up conch shells
hoping to find a way back to your
sweet, sweet voice

picking dandelions
seizing the memories, demanding
to return to
when you loved me too…

the air is dense, heavier than
my eyelids:
stilll wanting only to dream;
