Hello and welcome!
There are some angry songs and songs about hurting, but I think the album ends on a hopeful note. Mostly the album is about the breakup of Justin and Lisa's marriage and the ensuing custody battle over their daughter. Some of the songs are specifically about the mental breakdown Justin suffered as a result of not being able to see his daughter.
Justin has discussed what the album is about several times during interviews. Check out some of them here:
