i saw the show justin did at krz in pa it was really cool. it was very intimate and up close. he played hate me, into the ocean and calling you live, all acoustic. after he palyed they let people ask questions and i asked him how he kicked his addiction because I have had a 5yr struggle with cocaine addiction (i've been clean for 16 months)and i've always wondered how he did it. his answer was very straight forward and honest he basically said it was the people around him that helped him get clean. when he was taking pictures and signing pictures for everyone i told him about my struggle with substance abuse and he said it's one day at a time, and there are times he feels like picking up again but he now knows how mutch he has to lose especially since the birth of his baby girl. He told me to just take it one day at a time and to keep my chin up. i will never forget that he's just so honest and upfront and i appreciate that. anyway just wanted to give everyone my account of things. thanks for reading this.

Kari,
I'm glad you had the opportunity to see Justin. I think I heard you ask your question???? Was it toward the end of the question time? I work in a program for recovering addicts. One thing that most of my patients say is that they now really enjoy living each day and remembering the day. Even if it's a tough day for whatever reason, they can actually remember it and feel it. Good luck, it is one day at a time, thanks for your post, and telling us a little of what the afternoon was like. _________________ Lisa |
