Two days ago my friend Maria went to the dentist and received her first silver filling; the tooth was one of those way-back ones and the doc said silver would hold up better over time than one of those new-fangled enamel-colored fillings. This new addition to her mouth is something of a rite of passage for her; she feels like it means she's getting old and starting to decay, but she's probably overreacting.
Yesterday, while running errands, she set off every metal detector and security device coming and going. Storekeepers searched her bag, shrugged their shoulders and sent her on her way.
She asked me yesterday,
Do you ever just get the feeling that the universe is mocking you? |

I am sooo glad I am not the only one that thought that - on BOTH topics ...
